Organized for Life is a fantastic book and covers everything about life organization and has helped incredibly with my to-do list and prioritizing things at home.

I am forever grateful to you for making me take a look at life from another perspective. Organized For Life is one of  the very few books which covers everything that you need to know and is a great book just to pick up when you need organizing solutions for anything, and your style of writing makes me feel you are right here with me and we are having a conversation about it all.

Thank you dear Yvette,

Fiona, Scotland
I have been with you since 2007 and I can't tell you how much I enjoy your sense of humor, directness & down to earth manner.  I have printed all of your advise emails(I bought your e-book also) and have them in a binder. As a wife, working mother of 3 that are now grown, you have put into perspective.....life!  I still beat myself up for not being the 'perfect' everything but not near as often as I did.  I have learned that I need to be happy in order for everything else to go smooth (or as smooth as it can)!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing with us what you have learned and ideas that we can use in our real life!
Keep up the wonderful advise!

I look forward to your monthly emails! I have even sent some to friends who I hope have joined you!

Please take care and God bless you!

Dear Yvette,
A not so short note to say thank you, thank you, thank you.  14 years ago I had my first child and slowly as each year progressed I became more and more disorganised.  I suffered from post natal depression with my first and second child and after many years of it I lost my way, I now have five children the youngest 8 months and still I could not get my head above water as much as I tried, I just didn't know where to start.
As I live in a rural area it is difficult to get help with cleaning and things like that not that I can really afford it with that many children but it helped sometimes when I was feeling low, I do not have the luxury of this out here there is no one but me to cook and clean.  I am lucky I have a dear husband who never questions me when it comes to the house and he does his best to chip in when he is not working on the farm which this is 7 days a week so it is difficult for him and I don't like to ask him, he has so much on his plate already, he is a lovely big fella.
My 14 year old (who suffers aspergers) said to me this place is such a mess when he came home from boarding school at the end of the year last year. (he doesn't realise what he says because of his aspergers)
After coming back from Christmas break an unloading the trailer the place had not been clean since, until now well almost.
It was important that I read the part about emotions and understanding why I couldn't get on top of things, this was most helpful, it lifted a great weight off of my shoulders and suddenly I stopped seeing things as a whole room I saw them as one corner then the next corner and the next.  I was given an Ipod touch for christmas and you can keep notes on it so as I read your books I made notes about routines, I put my grocery list for town, and I have another list for when I go to the big city.  The morning one is a god send I had so much to do with the smaller children as long as I refer to this I am right that’s the basics, I have not tried to do everything at once just a little bit at a time.  I can't wait for my son to come home from first term to see what he says. I have not completed the whole house yet but I am getting there slowly one room at a time. My Ipod has a timer so it is brilliant for keeping it to the time limit I need.  I feel so happy and I may not need to see my psychiatrist this month, maybe everyone needs to process.
The big fella doesn’t have to wait three days for work clothes and the bed sheets actually get changed weekly I can't believe it, you really have helped me so much I tell everyone I talk to about your book.
I had better go nightly routine is a calling Thank you so so much you have given me life again and I might just be able to actually spend time with the children that I want to spend with them with out feeling guilty about the mess around me.
With the highest regards

Hi Yvette
I would like to say thankyou for your online book.  I purchased it last weekend and feel very happy that I did.  There is a lot of information to get through though.  I have also read some from your blog on the site.
Many Thanks again for you book and site.

Teresa, Co.Armagh, N.Ireland

Hi Yvette,

I feel compelled to write this to you.  I almost sent you a junk email about you being one of the twelve women who
have touched my life and that if all twelve of us were in the same room together we would be unstoppable!  But I thought that would be a bit weird.

So I am going to say this instead.  I am wondering how you know what exactly is going on in my mind and life?
I am almost convinced that you are my guardian angel watching over me and sending me helpful advice via email.

You know exactly what to write and when to send it.

I recently purchased your eBook and it really did help me turn my life around.  I found I amazingly had all this time on my hands, the house was clean, the kids and my partner were happy and I felt like I was a housewife out of a 1950's television show.  I had it all under control.  Even when my
mother in law came to visit to see the new addition, I didn't let her lift a finger.  And it was no effort at all.

Once she had left, I felt so organized that I decided to organize a Teddy Bear's Picnic for our community.  It was a great success, however all my efforts at home went down the drain.

I am now doing just as you say and am trying to get back on that horse, but for some reason that horse just seems so much bigger than it did when I fell off.  I try and try and I think I'm doing ok until I take a look around the
house and all I can see is mess.(It probably doesn't help that I have two little kids messing up behind me!)  But that is no excuse and we both know it!

The self sabotage thing - I just don't think I can get past it.

But I will keep on trying, and your emails are a key tool to help me get there.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  I really do think you are my guardian angel!

Warm regards
Kim, N.T. Australia

Hello Kim,
Wow, I have so much to say about this I don't know where to start.  I don't usually respond to these other than to say thank you.
It's wonderful to hear that reading my eBook helped you get things done and feel you were on top of things.  But the level at which you were on top of things screams to me nervous energy, surging happy hormones (you mention a new baby) and perfectionism.
With a new baby in the home, I advise accepting all the help you can get.  If people come to visit, let them bring food and nappies and do some housework while they're there.  You're doing more important things (being a mummy).
The falling off the wagon part sounds like fluctuating hormones to me as well, and again, perfectionism.  Don't fall for it!
Look after your health, get as much rest as you can, accept as much help as you can, and do things the easy way when you can.
Work on your basic, simple daily routines to keep things reasonably under control.  Aim first to look after yourself and your family with good food and plenty of rest.  Second, try to keep up with grocery shopping, washing (laundry) and dishes.  Order your groceries to be delivered if you can.  If you have spare energy after that, take one thing at a time in small chunks (like just putting away ONE thing if necessary).  Keep the toilet and the area where visitors sit as clean as you can, so you're not too stressed about people seeing your home.  Dress as nicely as you can each day to make you feel good.
Love yourself just for who you are, warts and all.  Forgive yourself your imperfections.  Work on doing the best you can under your present circumstances.  Prioritise your health and your family.
You have the tone of someone with a positive attitude who takes responsibility for her own life, and that's the best start you could have for achieving what you want.
I wish you all the best, and am considering publishing your email including my reply.  I think a lot of people could relate to it.
Kind regards,
Yvette

Hi Yvette,
Happy New Year!
I am sorry it has taken me sometime to give you feedback on your book. It took me time to read it but I have now successfully being put your advice to practice for the past 2 months and all I can say is...it works for me!!!
I think the turning point came when I identified myself with the 'all or nothing attitude', that you describe, perfectionism to the extreme but then becoming quite overwhelmed by the size of the task.
I had a couple of days, which you describe in your book as 'just about surviving' and even following your advice then and sticking to the basic routines, it helped me to still feel in control once those days passed.
There was no part of your book which was not helpful to me.
Your no nonsense approach also particularly suits my personality and as soon as I had read the first 20 pages I realised that it was a very practical book rather than a book written by someone who has 3 maids and 2 housekeepers and can therefore find the time to tell other people how to keep their lives organised.
Just to tell you a bit about me and how your book has helped me...
My friends used to call me Monica (as in the character from the series Friends) because of my sometimes nearly obsessive compulsive attitude to cleaningness and tidiness. The standards slipped a bit, when I got married and had to relax or risk driving my husband mad!
I moved home just over 3 years ago. My first night in the new home, was my first night out of hospital following an emergency caesarean.
The whole system of buying a house in the UK is very complicated and although we had planned to have the whole place ready (did I mention that we were gutting the whole house and having new kitchen, bathrooms fitted in, carpets removed, wooden floors put in, wallpapers stripped off etc?!) long before our baby was born things did not go according to plan at all.
To cut a long story short, we were given the keys to the new house, 3 days before my baby was due. Thankfully, he was very insightful and decided to stay cosy inside my belly for an extra two weeks and therefore we just about managed to have the new kitchen fitted in.
But then about 3 weeks after he was born, the builders moved in to do the rest of the job. It all seems so far away now, but needless to say that they were here for about 4 months, while I was getting used to be a new Mum.
Two months after they finished, I went back to work 4 days a week, with a 6 month old baby and my husband away with work for 6 weeks. Needless to say that getting the place sorted was not happening.
It has been a long process to get the house to some sort of sense. But I must say that since reading your book and following your advice, for the first time I feel that I am in control of things and that I manage to keep a nice environment around us, by keeping everything in place.
Your advice on routines is extremely useful. I have my own business (I assist Australian companies exporting to the UK and Europe!) and I work mainly from home, so a lot of the time my work papers were spreading from my desk into the dining room area and other rooms of the house. That's ok as long as I put it away at the end of the day... which I now make sure I do every single day.
What you suggest in terms of organising is not rocket science. But you put it in a way that makes it easy to follow and even the busiest of people will find your tips and advice easy to follow and stick to. It has changed me - my husband notices it, my friends notice it and everyone sees me much more in control just from having a much more organised life and home.
I refer to your book often, and it really helps me and encourages me especially if at any moment I feel that things get slightly out of control.
Thank you again Yvette

Hi Yvette,
I am enjoying your book very much.
I love how its so easy to read and its good to have straight forward information to make a schedule.
Well done
Cheers mate,

Leona, Brisbane, Australia

Dear Yvette
I am really enjoying your book.  I must say I have never read a book that is such a simple read and easy to follow. I am a “neat freak” and obsess over the little things. Your book guided me through each step of the way.  From the daily routines to the detailed monthly tasks, I feel a bit at ease that I can accomplish all these things without feeling overwhelmed.  Since I have a 10 month old baby who enjoys being adventurous, I have been able to declutter my living space and give him his own play area.  This is an amazing feeling!
Thanks So much for writing this book.  It is truly a blessing!

"Hi Yvette
Thanks for your most useful tips, I now just have to apply them to my life.
Kind regards,"

"Thank you, Yvette, for allowing me to participate in your great site. Your letters have helped me spot areas I need to work on very badly. I moved my mother in with us three years ago and since she insisted on bringing most of her things with her, I had to clear out a lot of my hobby and craft supplies. I have "stuffed" all of them into two other already-filled-to-the-brim rooms, but keep procrastinating in sorting, tossing and storing things because I can't really decide which ones I want to pursue. I've been taking a "Scarlet view" of it all...you know, I'll think about that tomorrow?...but after visiting an extremely disorganized relative, I think I have a better chance of getting back to the task. Wish me luck and again thank you for all the good advice."

"Dear Yvette,
Let me start by telling you how much I've enjoyed your book, Get Myself Organized.  Having read many books on organization, I found your most relatable to me.  I love your writing style and your common sense approach to staying on top of things.  I'm looking forward to your next newsletter.
Sincerely,"
